ANTIDEPRESSANT USE IN THE PAST MONTH (NHANES)

Method & caveats. Sparse survey cycles keyed to the cycle's end year, not annual; no interpolation. Five points, adults aged 18 and over, the 2009–2010 through 2017–2018 NHANES cycles from Data Brief 377's data table. Data Brief 283's 1999–2002 and 2003–2006 pools cover ages 12 and over, a different population; they are read and checked but never joined to this line. Later db283 pools are excluded because they overlap db377's cycles. Antidepressant use alone does not distinguish treatment access from illness prevalence. Breaks: five two-year NHANES cycles 2009–2018, adults 18+ only (the 12-and-over cycles in Data Brief 283 are a different population and are not joined); 2019–2020 cycle incomplete; NHIS 2023 item is a different instrument, never stitched.
